“Metamorphosis”
“Metamorphosis” is a visual meditation on transformation, identity, and the porous boundary between human and animal forms. Half of the figure’s face becomes a bird’s eye and vibrant feathers, symbolising the freedom of becoming and the evolution of self. The work reflects the idea that humans are not separate from nature but are continually evolving alongside it. Flowers, butterflies, and the bird’s eye represent change, beauty, and deep inner awakening. The piece celebrates fluidity, self-reinvention, and the shedding of surface identity to uncover something wild, instinctual, and authentic beneath. Through layering, juxtaposition, and symbolic imagery, I aimed to capture the emotional intensity, liberation, and poetic resonance of transformation. This work is both a personal and universal reflection on the journey toward authenticity, the embrace of change, and the courage to evolve beyond socially imposed identities. It invites viewers to consider their own process of becoming and the beauty inherent in fluidity and metamorphosis.
